At first glance, Galla Park Steak definitely looks different from the chop houses of yesteryear.

Sleek and stylish, using shades of gray, green and pink offset by black accents, plush seating and an active bar, the Short North’s latest restaurant boasts a contemporary and vibrant setting at 900 N. High St.

Galla takes a more updated approach to steaks, sourcing meat from select, premium farms in Ohio and beyond, Solomon said.

“Our company focuses on high-end products at low prices,” he said.

Another benefit for customers, Solomon said, is that the meat is sliced ​​before it reaches the table, encouraging people to share their meals. The bone-in cowboy rib eye, which costs $78, can feed two, he said.

The sauces, toppings and accompaniments – hollandaise, cream of corn and blue cheese, to name a few – are of the standard steakhouse pattern.

Vittoria is bouncing back well after the COVID-19 pandemic, returning to its popularity perch in the Powell area.

Even with the coronavirus-related death of chef Willi Lalli, who owned the restaurant with his son, Nick, Vittoria prepared large portions of home-cooked meals in the style of a modern Italian steakhouse.

The 16-ounce bone-in rib eye ($50) is one of the most popular dishes, served with a light sauce of sautéed tomatoes, basil, olive oil, white wine and garlic . The starter is accompanied by an asiago risotto and green beans with pancetta.

“It’s just a tantalizing sensation that pops up,” Lalli said.

The 8-ounce ($55) Filet Oscar offers a twist — a spicy Cajun béarnaise sauce covering the meat and chunk crab, with risotto and asparagus also sharing the plate.

“It’s not too spicy, just a little zip,” Lalli said. “It just gives it a different flavor profile but it mixes really well.”

Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse, 3600 Morse Road, Easton Area

Johnny’s Italian Steakhouse, where modern high-end cuisine meets old-time supper clubs, has opened in a double hotel concept near downtown Easton. The restaurant occupies approximately 5,000 square feet in the Hilton Garden Inn/Homewood Suites complex under construction at 3600 Morse Road, Morse Road and Sunbury Road.

The steakhouse is upscale but not premium, with an affordable menu that makes it an “everyday indulgence”, he said. Pricing hasn’t been set, but will be similar to West Chester, the only other Johnny’s in Ohio.

Seafood is another attraction, Singh said. One dish, for example, places scallops and arugula over a parmesan risotto.
