Polson

The Polson Senior Center, located at 504 Third Ave. E., is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. on weekdays. Lunch is available from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on weekdays. Memberships (50+) are available for $15 per year on a voluntary basis. Individuals and small groups are always welcome to relax, do puzzles, read, play card or board games, billiards etc. Call us with your questions at 406-883-4735, or email us at [email protected]

This year marks the 50th anniversary of our Polson Senior Center. We are looking forward to a great party. If you have any stories or photos to share from previous years, let us know. Our historian and directors are beginning to compile an exhibit that we will share. If you had or have relatives who were active at the center, let us know.

Activities

Exercise classes: 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Monday, Wednesday and Friday. (low impact; seated, if desired)

Bridge: postponed. Normally Tuesday and Friday. Call or drop by to get on the roster.

Mahjong: 12:30 p.m. on Wednesdays.

Pinochle: 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. We play 3-5 hands per table. Training available.

Bingo: 7 p.m. on Friday.

Thursday, January 20: Free hearing clinic, from 10 a.m. to noon.

Billiards: We need expertise in repairing some well-used cue sticks. Also, if you have slightly worn tail sticks or tail tip repair kits, we can use them. Practice for weekly free pool tournaments; 50 years and over (younger if supervised by a parent!).

The game would take place at 3 p.m. on Thursdays, or any other time or day preferred by the players. The pool is free; no entrance fees. Organized weekly pool games would begin on January 6. Train from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. most weekdays.

Meal

Lunch is served at the Centre, to take away or home delivery, from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. If you are a new customer, call 406-883-4735 for payment information. Meals are $5.

Wednesday, January 19: Pulled pork barbecue sandwich, tots, baked beans, creamy fruit salad and apple pie.

Thursday, January 20: Meatloaf, baked potato, green beans, green salad and tapioca pudding.

Friday, January 21: Soft-shell tacos, refried beans, salsa, sour cream, Frito-corn salad and orange cake.

Monday, January 24: Split pea soup, cornbread, fruit cottage cheese and poke cake.

Tuesday, January 25: Pork chops, cheese potatoes, sautéed vegetables, fruit jelly and pumpkin bars.

Wednesday, January 26: Baked chicken, vinaigrette, mixed vegetables, cranberry salad and lemon pudding.

Thursday, January 27: Polish dog, macaroni and cheese, corn, sauerkraut salad and a brownie.

Friday, January 28: roast beef, potatoes and gravy, green beans, peach and pretzel salad and birthday cake.

Monday, January 31: Beef noodle soup, bread roll, green salad and dump cake.

Dixon

Dixon Senior Center continues to serve our community and hope everyone stays happy and healthy. All are invited to come for dinner, lunch and/or pinochle. We also accept take-out requests. Meals will be served at 5 p.m. on Monday and Thursday. Meals are $4 per serving and are available to Dixon residents upon request.

Activities

We will take a break from pinochle during the winter for the safety of our seniors. He will return in the spring.

Meal

Thursday, January 20: Chili, cornbread, salad and dessert.

Monday, January 24: Sandwiches, chicken and noodle soup, vegetables and dessert.

Thursday, January 27: Enchiladas with chicken, rice and beans, salad and dessert.
