Denny’s releases Social Stars dishes in waves. The first wave offers:

  • the “Get these cookie dough pancakes” from @es_jenny_solares and @EnkyBoystopped with cream cheese frosting and served with eggs, hash browns and bacon or sausage
  • the “Jala Bac Burger” from @PaqJonathan69 and @ElTheEgga beef burger with white cheddar, bacon, mayo, lettuce, tomato and pickles, topped with a blistered jalapeno and served with crinkle fries
  • and the “Clearly Very Fruity Pancakes” from @CallMeBelly and @Mattheperson—blueberry pancakes topped with blueberry sauce, strawberries and bananas, served with eggs, hash browns and bacon or sausage

In a statement, brand manager Denny’s John Dillon said the company “didn’t just want to work with this diverse group of social stars to ‘hack the menu’. Instead, we wanted to take it to a new level and tap into their creative personalities to create elements of distinctly new menu that is bursting with bold flavors.

Menu hacking is a trend where creators cobble together their own secret menu items by smashing together items already available from restaurants to create new wonders and/or monstrosities. There’s also just general food piracy, which has resulted in homemade dishes like the famous baked feta pasta and corn ribs.

Both are huge trends on TikTok, generating billions of views and enough attention that the platform is considering creating a MrBeast Burger-esque delivery service that will drive viral dishes to people’s front doors.
