Foodies, Lend Me a Listen: The Erie Downtown Partnership and The Urban Oasis Project are hosting a Downtown Farmers’ Market in Perry Square every Sunday through September 11 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. fresh produce, crafts, makers, flowers, food, beverages and more. There’s also live music at noon and a free yoga class for kids every week at 11 a.m.

Red Letter embrace summer

Red Letter Hospitality is heading into the summer with various events and more, according to a press release.

First, they are offering a four course meal on Saturday in the middle of Perry Square under the lights. Sponsored by the Perry Square Alliance, the meal will be created by the chefs of Molly Brannigan, 506 State St., and served from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., according to Red Letter Hospitality. Meanwhile, they are launching a new menu at The cap 1794900 West Erie Plaza Drive, which you can see at cork1794.com/menu/. Features include an appetizer, summer burrata with heirloom cherry tomatoes, basil pesto, pine nuts, balsamic reduction, and toasted baguette; Gazpacho, a cold watermelon, heirloom tomato and jicama soup; and King Trumpet Mushroom with cauliflower and cashew polenta, corn succotash and pickled red onion. To finish, Tavern Skunk & Goat, 17 W. Main St., North East, sponsors the Gibson Park Corn Hole League with Stetson Bros. Hardware. The fun starts on Monday and will continue until August 29. The league will consist of 12 teams meeting at Gibson Park, Routes 20 and 89, northeast, playing at 6 or 7 p.m. After games, league members are entitled to a free game. draft beer at the tavern. King of the Strip Food Truck

Dale Booker’s Steak Food Truck, King of the Strippassed the inspection for the license on June 23.

Reservationan Erie native, entrepreneur and hip-hop/rap music artist who goes by Bando Booker, has reservations available for the food truck, according to his Facebook page.

The truck offers made-to-order strip loin steaks, burgers, hot dogs and New York chicken skewers with barbecued eggs, asparagus and beans.

Opening of the donut factory

It’s time to make the donuts.

The Erie Donut Factory5031 Peach St., held its grand opening on Friday after passing its license inspection on June 23. The store is located in Summit Plaza next to the Hallmark Store.

Erie Donut Factory, located in Summit Plaza at 5031 Peach St., promises sweet things to come, including 40 flavors of donuts large and small.

Owner Ed Lang said the store, which is neither a franchise nor a chain, will eventually offer 40 flavors of large and small donuts and other baked goods such as cookies and cakes.
