But what we find in every nook and cranny of India is not an authentic Chinese version but an Indianized version of it. We’ve created our own Indochinese cuisine by adding lots of masalas to classic Chinese dishes, and we love it all. But, do you ever want to try other dishes than the usual noodles? Here we have a Kung Pao vegetable recipe that will give you a different Chinese experience but elicit similar feelings. We found a Kung Pao vegetable recipe video on YouTube channel ‘Ananya Banerjee’ and thought to share it with you. The vegetarian dish can be easily prepared at home with common vegetables and sauces that you use to prepare other Chinese dishes. The addition of cashew nuts makes this dish a delight to eat.
How to make Kung Pao vegetables:
Heat oil in a skillet. Mix and sauté paneer or tofu and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté the garlic, green peppers and cashews. Wait for the cashews to brown. Add vegetables like peppers, zucchini, etc. Now prepare the sauce by combining soy sauce, corn flour, brown sugar, vinegar and add salt to taste. When the vegetables are cooked, add the cornmeal porridge, add the tofu and a little sesame oil, as well as some toasted sesame seeds.
