New fast food chains
New local restaurants aren’t the only thing that caused a stir in Johnson County this year, several fast food chains have also been causing a stir.
Hawaiian Bros., a Hawaiian food chain based in Belton, Missouri, has opened several branches in the area since early 2021, since the first day they opened.
Also, we couldn’t finish a review of the new restaurants for 2021 without mentioning Whataburger.
The San Antonio-based burger chain has yet to officially open branches in Johnson County, but the company (which has the backing of Kansas City chief quarterback Patrick Mahomes) caused a stir during the first metro franchise at Lee’s Summit opened in November at miles-long lines of cars and record sales.
Click here to see when Whataburger officially begins opening in the region.
