Going to a Minnesota Twins game? Here are the new foods at Target Field

Target Field swung to the fences by unveiling the new baseball stadium food deals on Tuesday, some from long-time sellers and some from newbies eager to give Twins fans a taste of what they’re up to.

Debuts for 2022 include Aussie-style hand pies, ‘upcycled’ sandwiches made from spent grain bread, tacos from a Roseville family restaurant, candied nuts from a multi-generational confectionery company and grilled cheese which showcases growers in northeast Minneapolis. Food building.

Also new this year is the Market, a self-serve area for pre-packaged snacks, hot meals and soft serve ice cream, as well as a huge walk-in beer cooler. Customers will sit at payment terminals.

Novice sellers

Australian Gourmet Pies from Bub’s: Australian expat Jason Drysdale started the handmade pie business two years ago in Lake Elmo. Now they’re available in the freezer section of a few local grocers and at Target Field. The 8 oz Chicken and Wild Rice Pie is an ingenious way to eat soup one-handed. “It’s what we call a travel pie,” he said. Recycled food: A new approach to recycling transforms spent grains from breweries and distilleries into flour for all kinds of sweets. Upcycle Food chef Scott Vanden Broecke bakes dark, chewy buns for a new grinder at the stadium. The sandwich is filled with ham, bologna, capicola, pepperoni, raw onions and cheese. “We are working on new partnerships with local breweries,” he said, to take their grains and turn them into bread. The Tapatia: This Roseville-based restaurant makes its Target Field debut with chicken adobo tacos in fluffy lined tortillas. Game lovers can choose between the cali style, with sour cream, tomatoes and shredded cabbage, or the Mexican style with raw onions and cilantro. food building: Northeast-based Kieran Folliard’s food building brings local flavor to what’s billed as the stadium’s “official” grilled cheese sandwich. Sweet and funky Alemar cheese is sandwiched between two slices of Baker’s Field bread and toasted with lots of butter. Grab a cup of creamy tomato soup for dipping. The market near section 126.

We are crazy (St. Paul): Peanuts and baseball are a classic pair, and locally owned We Are Nuts is bringing its roasted best to the new take-out market. Find candied, spicy and salty mixes. The market near section 126.

Returning players with new food

Roots for the home team: Five rotating salads were each made in collaboration between a local chef and a youth association. A standout dish is the Legacy Salad – brown rice, edamame, pickled vegetables, snow peas, bok choy and crunchy chickpeas. Zarea Mobley, 20, a member of the Roots for the Home Team Youth Advisory Board, helped design the salad, which features Korean chili and mango dressing, alongside chef Yia Vang. “I was there with Yia. We told him what flavors we wanted, and he created a sweet, spicy, and salty salad,” she explained. “It’s the community coming together as a whole to make salad for more communities.” Section 101.

soul bowl: After a sabbatical year, chef Gerard Klass returns with new dishes. The Summer Bowl features barbecue braised beef, Cajun corn and decadent macaroni and cheese. hot indian: Now that owner Amol Dixit and chef Janene Holig have closed the Hot Indian stand at Midtown Global Market, Target Field is the place to get Holig’s chicken tikka or vegan chana masala, served over brown rice with crispy papadum, cilantro and coleslaw. Near section 122.

Mac’s Fish: The beloved fry baskets are back at the stadium. The breaded pickerel is simply served with a little salt on top and a jalapeño-lime tartar sauce. Available with fries. Townball Tavern
