Jennifer Garnier is always a joy on social media, with cute photos and funny videos, and today she brought laughs and cooking skills to a new post.
The mother-of-three posted a video she titled “#PretendCookingShow: Caramel Corn” on Instagram. set to by Meghan Trainor new song, “Made You Look,” Garner invited her followers into her kitchen as she made homemade caramel corn.
While cooking, Garner used her acting skills to pretend she was the star of a popular cooking show, like Giada De Laurentiis Where Rachel Rayeven pretending to be shocked by the sound of something in the kitchen.
The end product was a pile of (probably) delicious caramel corn that Garner nibbled while dancing.
Garner captioned the video, “My mom’s friend Helen made caramel corn and sent it to my sisters and me every fall for years. Eventually she passed along her recipe and we asked to keep the tradition going Well that little note card is hidden in a book somewhere but this @kingarthurbaking recipe is pretty darn close Try this fast train to goodness for a treat that tastes like fall, thanks to our wonderful Mrs. Epps. 🍁🍿.”
Luckily for fans who want to try and replicate Garner’s caramel corn, she also shared the exact recipe from King Arthur Baking Company.
She listed the ingredients as 1/2 cup unpopped popcorn kernels (equals about 15 cups of popcorn when popped), 2 tbsp molasses, 1 cup packed brown sugar, 8 tbsp cold salted butter, 1/4 cup light corn syrup, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and salt, although she didn’t list a specific measurement for the last ingredient, so that’s at your discretion.

For baking instructions, she wrote, “1. Preheat oven to 200°F and line two large rimmed baking sheets with parchment paper. 2. Pop your corn! 3-quart saucepan over medium-high heat Cook molasses, brown sugar, butter and corn syrup, stirring occasionally until sugar dissolves Bring syrup to a boil, stirring occasionally time, for 5 minutes until it reaches 250°-255°F on digital or candy thermometer. It will darken slightly.
The recipe continues, “4. Remove the pan from the heat and add baking soda (and I add salt!); stir well (the mixture will froth). 5. Immediately (and carefully0 pour the hot syrup over the corn popped and stir until corn is well coated. 6. Divide hot caramelized corn between baking sheets. Bake at 200°F for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes. 7. Remove from oven and let cool before storing in an airtight container.
His last step? “8. Yum.”
As expected, people found the video amusing, with many comments like “Oh this looks delicious” and “This looks so good!!! 😍.”
