Restaurant of the week: K-38 Beach Mex Cantina

Experience a taste of Baja without leaving the country at K-38 Beach Mex Cantina. The new dining venue offers authentic Baja-inspired dishes, over-the-top sips and a vibrant, quirky vibe in Chandler.

With a larger-than-life attitude and bold design, the K-38 is the perfect solution for a fun night out with friends or a family dinner. (Tip: Kids eat free every Wednesday!) Spot aesthetic features bright colors with neon fixtures like the “Feed me tacos and tell me I’m pretty” lighted sign, flower walls , rainbow fairy lights and more Instagrammable fun.

Gnar Chos

K-38 was inspired by Baja California’s street vendors and neighborhood taquerias and truly captures the essence of the city, both in its authentic dishes, sips and fun atmosphere. The menu offers a taste of Mexico with each dish prepared with the freshest seasonal ingredients. Some of our favorites include the Gnar-chos with green chili queso, cheese, jalapenos, wet sauce, roasted corn, cotija, Valentina sauce, cilantro and guacamole (absolutely to die for), as well as the shrimp borrachos, chicken tinga tacos and, for dessert, crispy churros (a la mode, of course). Each tortilla is homemade daily, non-GMO and gluten-free. There’s also a variety of allergy-friendly, vegan, and vegetarian-friendly dishes on the menu, like buffalo cauliflower or magic mushroom tacos.

mango heat

In addition to its stellar cuisine, the Mexican joint offers an incredible range of cocktails that are almost too good to drink, in addition to frozen cervezas and wine. Some must-have cocktails include the frosty Mango Heat, with mango, triple sec, lime, chamoy and plata; Michelada de Casa, with a house blend of clamato, tamarind candy, and your choice of Modelo or Corona; or try the multitude of flavors available with the margarita flight, offering delicious samples of blood orange, pomegranate, mango and passion fruit.
