Tax assistance available at the Allegheny Community Center

Tax season is fast approaching and ACC will be offering free tax services. The service – Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) – is available both virtually and in person to anyone earning less than $65,000 per year. The service will begin on January 24. As part of a COVID-19 mitigation effort, the following procedure will be required for all those requesting assistance: come to the rear entrance of ACC and a large envelope and form admission will be there. Take it home and fill it out, including a phone number, if you received the child tax credit and the amount of your third stimulus payment. Copies of driver’s license and social security cards must be included as well as a void check if you wish to receive your return electronically. Return all of this gear to the back entrance of ACC where a safe will be located on the right. Lift the lid and place your completed forms on the platform. Closing the lid allows your tax documentation to drop into a secure box.

MAKE, TAKE AND EAT

Another Make and Take course is scheduled for February 2. There is so much information about how to eat gluten-free it can be confusing. Find out what to buy to make your diet a little more gluten-free. Sandy will whip up delicious gluten-free muffins for attendees to taste and take home. Call ACC to register.
