Overland Trail Museum Heritage Festival — Pioneer Park. 10:00 a.m. Church in the Park hosted by Sterling Foursquare and First Baptist Church, 11:00 a.m. Opening Ceremony with “Abe Lincoln” speech; 11:30 a.m. Boots in motion; 12:00 p.m. Colorado Vintage Baseball Association Game; 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. lunch served by Sterling Lions Club and Merino Fire Department; 2-4 p.m. Atomic Drifters; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. train rides, leather crafts, carnival games, blacksmith demonstrations, Flatlanders Car Club, homemade rootbeer.

Zion Congregational Church Soup Kitchen — 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., 5th Street and Chestnut. Approach the back door and go down the stairs. Free. Meals served to anyone who is hungry and in need of a hot meal.

monday 4th july

4th of July Fireworks Jam — 5 p.m., Home Depot parking lot. Music by ZZ Top tribute band El Loco Fandango, appearance by Wild Bill, free bouncy house, horse and wagon rides, giveaways and fireworks from dusk onwards.
